USB thermal camera (upgraded interfaces)

Auvidea has upgraded the thermal cameras UV640-9 and UV256-4 to make them more rugged for industrial and drone applications. The standard JST 4 pin connector is replaced by well shielded connectors to that the cameras are less sensitive in EMI challenging applications.

The Auvidea CA6x adaptors replace the standard interface board and thereby become an integral part of the camera.

In our drone reference design we use 2 of these cameras (top and side facing). We use the micro coax version. The JNX120X carrier board features 2 micro coax connectors, to directly interface to 2 of these cameras.

The cameras are supported by a standard UVC driver. So they are compatible to our NVIDIA Jetson systems.

The adapters are available in the following variations:

  • CA60: ipex 20453-20 micro coax (standard cable length: 150 to 2500mm)
  • CA61: shielded and impedance controlled FPC cable (5 pin, 2 layers, flexible). Cable: 38396 (32mm, 60mm, 120mm)
  • CA62: USB-C vertical
  • CA63: USB-C horizontal
